Homosexuality and homophobia (morbid fear of gays) is nothing new although homophobic attitudes first made its real entry/inroads with Christianity. World history shows, however, that they have been well accustomed with gays relations throughout history. Everything from informal and not registered relationships, to temporary relationships and to highly ritualized conditions which have contained marriage. It has always been subcultures of men and women who have had the primary emotional and sexual orientation to people of the same sex and dressed in clothes of the opposite sex. In some cases, this subculture been both accepted and admired, but in many other cases, women and men have been harassed, excluded, placed in mental institutions, imprisoned and killed. Gays cohabitation, partnership and marriage has existed from time immemorial and is today once again, more and more recognized and accepted as a normal way of living together worldwide, but the road has been both long, heavy, painful and hard.
Is it not a paradox, humanity has lived for thousands of years in one with and in harmony with the nature. They have lived the way they are created to live, with the orientation they are assigned from birth, and they have spent the fetishes that have felt right to them, and that has given them joy, pleasure and satisfaction. Yes they have lived by nature's own laws and it has not even been a need for sexual definitions of any kind.
For subsequent studies, it appears moreover of homosexuality, is not at all unique and just for us humans. To date there are registered over 1,500 animal species who practice gay sex. And since man is a part of the animal world, perhaps it is not so unusual after all. In mid-October 2016 opened the Natural History Museum in Oslo an exhibition about animal's sexual orientation - which has led to an outcry among religious people.
Then, almost like lightning basis of clear skies, one gets imposed a new faith with a so-called kind, good, caring, merciful, omnipotent and not at least charitable god. Almost in the very same moment, all the consideration and charity are obviously thrown overboard. Everything is sin and there are put diagnoses or pathological definitions on all what hitherto has been regarded as normal. Now it's suddenly only the heterosexual and Christian missionary love position that is allowed in the name of procreation.
More than 2,000 years ago, and before Christianity, homosexuality was virtually accepted as a normal way of life. Yes, it was allowed to love, live and stay with the on you loved regardless of gender. It was also quite common to have a gay relationship in addition to a normal marriage between a man and a woman, if you wanted it. So it is perhaps natural to ask:
ARE THERE SEVERAL "WAYS "OF BEING HOMOSEXUAL
Several researchers studying the social structure of same-sex relationship, believes that the concept of homosexuality can best be described as multiple "homosexuality". The organization of these conditions occurs and has occurred in various ways over the years, and can be grouped into three different categories:
Egalitarian (equal) conditions
Egalitarian or equivalent conditions are where the age between the partners is irrelevant, and both play a socially accepted gender role for their own sex. This form is most common in Western society, and is now spreading worldwide. This is a relationship, where one usually does not always notice, before being told they are gays.
Gender Structured relationship
Gender Structured relationship is where the partners play different gender roles. This form is exemplified by traditional relations between men in Mediterranean countries, the Middle East, Central Asia and South Asia, and "two-spirit" traditions found in some indigenous cultures. In western cultures this form are mainly represented by "butch / femme" relationship. That is one act masculine and the other one feminine.
Age-structured relationship
Age-structured relationship is where one partner is significantly, even up to a generation older than the other. Examples are pederasty in ancient Greece, the relationships between younger Samurais and the more experienced warriors and south-Chinese traditions adult men marrying young boys.
The word pederasty derives from Greek (paiderastia) "love of boys" and is usually a gay erotic relationship between an adult man (erast) and a boy (eromenos). The boy was usually between 12 and 18 years and had already shown signs of puberty, but was not yet fully grown, and always had a passive role in the relationship.
Pederasty was quite common in all ancient cultures, and in ancient Greece and Rome, this kind of relationships between same sex, were both integrated and accepted.
Such homoerotic relationships entailed absolutely no shame. On the contrary. According to Plato, this was the most noble form of love. But this kind of love also had strict rules. The man in the relationship had to ask the boy's father for permission to be his mentor so he could train him in the noble art of love.
It was usually not allowed to penetrate, i.e. to have anal sex, and the most common form was therefore penetration between closed thighs, while all other homoerotic acts were allowed. In this way the boy could preserve both their honour and dignity. If one wanted anal penetration, it has been conducted together with a prostitute and/or slaves.
Historically pederasty has always existed as a practice and a variation within different cultures. The status of pederasty has changed throughout history. Often the conditions were limited in duration and in co-existence with conventional marriage. It has sometimes been regarded as absolutely ideal and sometimes a crime.
Its most structured and cultural manifestation was the Athenian pederasty that was most prominent in the 6th century BC. At that time, it was said that a young boy had to be taught the noble art of love, by an adult male, to get appetite for lust of the flesh and to achieve joy and complete satisfaction - even if it was within gay or heterosexual sex. The man's unique role at that time, made sex with another man the most beautiful and perfect thing you could have.
Christian missionaries discovered in its time, that this was also a very common practice among Indians, the indigenous people of California.
In France, the term has been used as a synonym for homosexuality between adult men, but as always France has been among the most emancipated in the erotic area.
The current legal status of pederasty in most countries, is determined by whether the boy has reached the age of majority, and whether such contact is deemed offensive to the young boy or not.
In Norway per 2016, the word pederasty is usually only used in connection with the abuse of minors on a par with paedophilia.
CROSS DRESSING = DRESS IN OPOSITE SEX CLOTHING
THE FIRST LESBIAN = SAPPHO/SAPFO FORM THE ISLAND OF LESBOS
In 600 BC, Lesbos was a cultural centre. Sappho spent most of her life on the island of Lesbos. She was a great poet and lyricist, known to posterity through his poems dedicated to other women. From Sappho's poems are commonplace to regard her as a lesbian, that is she had several female lovers.
The modern concept of lesbian originated by Sappho coming from the island of Lesbos, and she was originally discussed with reference to geography as "The lesbian's poet". She has also inspired to the less used phrase "Sapphic love" which means exactly the same - lesbian love.
It is also said that she invented the plectrum, a tool used to play on stringed instruments even today. Sappho is thus the first to use the plectrum instead of picking the strings with the fingers.
SATYRICON - PERHAPS THE MOST KNOWN AND REVIEWED FILM FROM ANCIENT GREECE
Fellini Satyricon, or simply Satyricon, is an Italian fantasy drama written, directed and filmed by Frederico Fellini, loosely based on Gaius Petronius' work Satyricon, written during Emperor Nero's reign in the ancient Roman Empire.
The film consists of nine episodes, and deals with the well-trained Encolpius and his friend Ascyltus, who both are in love, trying to win the young boy Gitóns heart. This is perhaps the most famous film adaptation of ancient pederasty.
Actors: Ascyltus by Hiram Keller, Encolpius by Martin Potter, Gitón by Max Born, Eumolpus by Salvatore Randone, Trimalchio by Mario Romagnoli.
SOME SHORT HISTORICAL FLASHBACKS ON THE ROLE OF HOMOSEXUALITY IN THE HISTORY
It is highly unlikely to believe that homosexuality, either it's between men or women, or being bisexual, was something that suddenly arose. The natural is, to assume this has existed and been accepted as a natural part of life from the very dawn of history. Man had not once concepts describing sexual identity. Indeed, why would one describe something that was commonplace, accepted and well established, completely normal, and the world's most natural thing?
Still there is mostly just pictures and stories by and about men - not women. The reason why it is primarily men who are portrayed as gays and bisexuals, is probably due to the difference in male and female position in society. Written culture was a distinctly male culture at the time. Men wrote about men, for men. Women did not belong to the public domain in particular, and came consequently not included in the literary history.
THE VERY FIRST WRITTEN STORIES ABOUT HOMOEROTIC RELATIONSHIPS AND MARRIAGES
THE YEAR IS 0 - EMPEROR AUGUSTUS IS THE FIRST ROMAN EMPEROR
YEAR 54 - EMPEROR NERO
YEAR 218 - EMPEROR ELAGABALUS
YEAR 306 – CONSTANTINE THE GREAT CHOSES TO BECOME THE FIRST CHRISTIAN EMPEROR
YEAR 342 - NEW LAW PROTECTING CITIZENS AGAINST ONE KIND OF GAY MARRIAGE
In the year 342, was adopted a law to protect citizens against being forced into a very specific form of gays marriage, proclaimed by the Christian emperors Constantius II and Constans. When a feminine youth or young man shows a virile attraction to women, and against their will are forced to play the female role in intercourse with other men, or when a man marries a feminine youth / man, with the intention to get him to play the man so that they themselves can take the feminine role, then it is considered to be an abomination, and may even lead to death as punishment.
This law was intended as a protection for certain citizens and was not at all aimed at men, not getting turned on by women. What we today call gays men. This kind of men were not considered to be manly men and was thus not covered by the law. Nevertheless, this law was seen as a precursor and taken to income for the preparation of the law of 390 which forbade all forms of gays compounds and where the penalty was burning.
YEAR 390 - THE CHURCH START PERSECUTING GAYS / LAW DICTATES BURNING OF GAYS
The Roman Empire was divided and Christianity was made to the official religion, despite the fact that there were only about five percent of the population being Christian in the western part of the empire, and about ten percent in the eastern. This did not deter power-hungry clerics from spreading fear and showing their power, only to gain full control over the population.
The bishop of Milan, St. Ambrose, excommunicated the emperors because of the spread of heresy, and the appropriate punishment for their sins was to issue an imperial decree, which for the first time in history, criminalized all sexual relations between men. The prescribed punishment was death by burning.
May 14, 390, the decree of the Christian emperors Valentinian II, Theodosius I and Arcadius was laid out in Roman hall of Minerva, who were commemorating the Roman goddess of poetry, medicine, wisdom, commerce, weaving, crafts, magic, and those who invented the music. The place was a favourite gathering place for actors, writers and artists. The reason was actually, that gays men at the imperial court were strong opponents of Catholic teaching and life of Jesus Christ. This cruel persecution went on for over a thousand years.
In 1431, Joan of Arc was burned at the stake for having worn male clothing and for breaking with accepted gender roles. She maintained that her vocation, motivation and way of dressing came as a direction from God. Her followers, however considered her to be sacred.
YEAR 476 – THE START OF THE MEDIEVAL PERIOD - THE MIDDLE AGES - THE DARK AGES
The medieval period is a period in European history ranging from ancient shutdown until early modern times or Renaissance.
Within political history it has been customary to date it more precisely to 476-1453, respectively the Western and Byzantine kingdom fall as one of extremes.
It emphasizes the demographic, cultural and economic deterioration that allegedly took place in Western Europe after the fall of the Roman Empire. Yes, a time of darkness and decay. The period was marked by a relative lack of historical and other written sources, at least for some areas of Europe, which makes it particularly difficult for historians.
In retrospect, one can really ask themselves whether the introduction of Christianity, or handing over the power from ordinary human heads of states, to the holy and exalted, power-hungry and greedy church leaders, were of the good or evil for the people who lived in this dark time, in which everything was a shame, taboo and not to mention totally prohibited.
YEAR 800 - THE VIKING AGE AND HOMOSEXUALITY IN SCANDINAVIA
Before Christianity gained a foothold in Scandinavia, homosexuality was not seen as a sin or something punishable among Vikings. Viking laws and saga texts show that they looked very different on the active and the passive party in a relationship, that is if the act was observed by eyewitnesses, but most often applied "the law of concealing" (not telling) and they simply did not pass it on.
Bottom line was; it was not shameful to be with another man while one was the manly and active party. This was probably the reason why there were often slaves who were the passive party because they had no honour to defend.
A man who subjected himself to another man, was in fact not considered to be a real man. This was probably also an important reason why the Vikings raped both men and women on their depredations. Women to propagate and men to humble them, as well as to show them who was the strongest, and not least who the victor.
According to the Icelandic law code, it was a deadly insult if one accused another man to be effeminate, unmanly or "rargr", which could correspond to the passive party in a gay relationship. The victim had therefore both the law and the right to challenge the provocateur to a duel to death to restore his honour.
We see, in other words that the term is related to passive, receiving homosexuality. It was not at all a problem to be the active party. Rather the opposite.
What we can read from this, is that it is not homosexuality as such, that is the problem, no it is being public submissive, weak, and the lack of honour it involves. On the other hand, there has always been an opportunity to prove otherwise by duel.
A good safety valve.
YEAR 1000 - KING OLAV THE HOLY AND THE BARBARIC CHRISTIANIZATION OF NORWAY
A meeting was held at Moster between the bishops and the king's men between 1022 and 1024. Christian rights were put forward - made into church laws. At this council, the church was linked up to King Olav the Holy as a state church. The new law called "The big character change " and was largely founded on Christian values.
- Yes on both good and evil.
It came ban on homosexual acts already in the first recorded laws in the 1100s. The penalty was the loss of fortune or exile. Anyway, historians do not know about anyone who was punished for this in the dark ages. After the Reformation in 1536, the penalty sharpened. Now the Bible was increasingly used as inspiration for the laws.
The new laws did not mention homosexuality since the word had not yet been invented, but forbade "unnatural socialization". The lawmakers would not that such cases would be spoken in any kind of public way. In practice this meant that it was forbidden for men to have sexual relations with anyone other than women. There was no distinction between sexual relations with other men and with animals, both were called sodomy. To be convicted of sodomy, it had to be proved that they had penetrated the "victim".
YEAR 1350 - THE RENAISSANCE - ILLUMINATES A NEW HOPE FOR EUROPE
The Renaissance, from French Renaissance "rebirth", is a term for a period of time, but also a spiritual flow and direction in art and architecture in western Europe, originated in Italy in 1350's with the poetry collection Canzoniere by Francesco Petrarca. It alludes to the revival of ancient philosophy, art and culture, in contrast to what was seen as the cruel barbarism in the dark ages.
Not at least contributed, two of the Renaissance large and gays artistic masters named Leonardo da Vinci and Michelangelo, to put art and especially homosexuality on the world map again. It was not only Florence that was the hotbed of new gays artists, such as Greece once was, but also Paris, Berlin, London, New York and of course Rome. With so many places only in the West, it goes without saying that gays are one of the major sources of cultural flowering.
Even if homophobes never will stop its persecution against gays, they will never be able to kill or eradicate homosexuality. Homosexuality has existed from time immemorial, and has come to stay as long as there are people on earth.
ÅR 1506 – GUARDIA SVIZZERA PONTIFICATA = THE PAPAL SWISS GUARD
Many believe that the Pope's Swiss guard first and foremost was created because of security, not to mention pomp and circumstance, but it is wrong. Why did it have to be the most handsome and prettiest Swiss boys between 19 and 30 years? Why did they have to sign a declaration of confidentiality which also included their own sexual privacy.
- Yes, for ever and always?
Well, when you as a Catholic Pope was "taken with your pants down" as gay, or as a sodomite who it previously was often referred to, what could be more natural and smarter than camouflaging their gays lovers, yes as pretty, handsome, young and virile Guardsmen?
Guardsmen who stood 100% under the pope's command and to his own pleasure just when he wanted. Now was the gay and sex possessed pope, amidst its own custom-designed candy store, and could only pick and choose. The Swiss Guard was simply a papal gay paradise on earth, for him, his gays sex needy cardinals and not at least for the subsequent needy popes and cardinals.
Who was it, having such a cunning and wonderful idea? History shows it was Pope Julius II, often called the belligerent or the dreaded Pope who founded the Vatican's Swiss Guard on January 22 1506. His name was really Giuliano della Rovere and he reigned as Pope since he was 59 until he was 69 years old. He was the nephew of the former Pope Sixtus IV (1471-1484), and was most likely just as gay as his uncle.
It was Pope Julius II who started with the indulgences trade as well, and who created the world famous quotation: Once the money in the chest sounds, the soul from purgatory springs.
Cause: To raise money for, among other things construction of St. Peter's Basilica, and maybe his personal gay life style (keeping young Guardsmen), the pope started selling indulgences that people could buy instead of doing penance for their sins. This arrangement proved to be very popular especially among people who had money.
Something you may not know, was that one could also buy indulgences for something wrong one later was going to commit. The scheme resulted in substantial income to the church.
He was sentenced by the Council of Pisa as "the sodomite (gay) with the shameful wounds" (pink syphil's rash on face and hands). The council based its conclusions on Julius's great love for Federigo Gonzaga, Francesco Alidosi and many other handsome young men. But he was not the only gays Pope with love of young men through the ages.
Pope John XII, who reigned between 955-963, had the Roman emperor Heliogabalus (Elagabalus) and his very dissolute conduct that typifies. This meant that he himself held and participated in countless gays sex orgies in the papal palace.
Yet it is perhaps correct to call Pope Benedict IX (1032-1048) for the first pope who was primarily gay. Yes, if nothing else, he is known to have transformed the Vatican into a luxurious male brothel where he amused himself masterfully.
The list of bisexuals and gays popes and cardinals are long, infinitely long. Nevertheless, Pope Julius II, is the one who has left the biggest and best gays inheritance or gift in the history of their descendants - namely the Papal Swiss Guard. If homosexuality was as great pity as the Catholic Church claims, why has not the subsequently popes abolished their own little gays sex paradise?
Yes, because it is constantly popes and cardinals who need and want gay sexuell diversion - a pleasure that should not be for others to take part in. They protect themselves under their motto: "You will do as I say, and not as I do "!
That's the truth!
In the 16th century, a syphilis epidemic ravaged, revealing the hypocrisy in the Catholic Church. Officially, the priests, cardinals and popes was living in celibacy, but a pink syphilis rash on hands and face revealed mercilessly that priests, cardinals and even Pope Julius II sinned.
Since neither warnings nor exhortations (admonitions) managed to frighten the "church’s naughty boys" from continuing with their outgoing sexual amusements, the Italian doctor Gabriele Falloppio decided to develop a special condom to stop the visible evidence of the shameful diseases of the sickness, raging among the church’s leadership. He even wrote the very first (historically undisputed) manual for condom use called De Morbo Gallico. In the manual he recommended a linen sheath wrapped around the penis, and he advocated the use of such sheaths to prevent syphilis. In an early example of a clinical trial, Fallopio reported that he tested these condoms in 1,100 men, none of whom contracted syphilis. This should help restore faith to the celibacy, as well as to reduce the church's falling credibility.
YEAR 1520 - MARTIN LUTHER - THE FATHER OF THE PROTESTANTISM
Decked, Martin Luther "the father of the Protestantism" on the truth when he spoke about himself? He himself claimed that he came from poverty and that a divine impulse in 1505 meant that he would become a monk.
New research shows that the pious monk, not being truthful about their own lives. A large group of German archaeologists have in five years’ time, been searching the house where Luther was born in Eisleben, and the home where he grew up in Mansfeld. Based on the new excavations and studies, is the fact that he, his whole life has belonged to the middle class.
In the famous monk's childhood homes, the researchers found clues that suggest Luther's father, even as a young man, owning a copper mine, and that Luther's mother was born in a middle class home. No signs of a childhood in poverty. Why did he lie?
Luther's father had earlier married off three daughters and a son, to the children of a hatter. The next in line to be married off was the 21 years old son Martin. The experts are asking themselves, if it would have been so much worse to be married off to a wealthy hatter daughter, versus living alone as a monk in seclusion? Well, unless the decision might have been based on the fact that Luther was gay and that he had more interest in spending the rest of his life among men with similar orientation.
This remains a speculation if one does not find further evidence, but perhaps he used the lightning that struck down beside him, on the 2nd of July 1505, as a rescue plank for its gays orientation, and as a pretext to escape and get married himself by saying: "I want to become a monk." If so, this was a proper subtly to avoid being married off against their will, and perhaps not least against their carnal desire. Why could not the great Father of the Church circumvent this truth, just as lenient as the truth about his childhood, upbringing and his life in general?
Anyway, thanks to the young Martin Luther, gay or not, his indomitable courage, his later opposing and strong battle against the darkness and lust for power in the oppressive and greedy Catholic Church, emerged a new way of thinking that gave people new opportunities and new hope.
YEAR 1687 – KING CHRISTIAN V’s NEW NORWEGIAN LAW
King Christian V's Norwegian Act of 1687 introduced the death penalty: "Intercourse, contrary to nature, will be punished by burning on a bonfire".
Those who were to blame in that kind, were unclean, and the community had to be purified by fire.
This was the current Norwegian Penal Code until 1842. However, historians does not know anyway that the clause was ever used against men who had sex with other men in Norway. But there are relatively many cases where this section was used against men who had sexual intercourse with animals, also called bestiality. It is found over 80 such cases after 1687. What women did, the state was not concerned about.
Nevertheless, one only know two cases before 1842, where male homosexuality was investigated. One case is from Valdres in 1674. An officer had used its authority to force the soldiers under his command to embody sociable on "sodomy conjures". It was hold questioning, but the officer had escaped to foreign countries. His wife, belonging to the noble elite in Norway, were granted a divorce, and the case was quickly hushed up. There was no trial.
The other case is from Kragerø in 1693, and was the defendant sawmill worker Aaron Åsulsen, which several accused of indecent approaches and to be guilty of "the sin that should not be mentioned". Although he acknowledged his actions, it ended with him being whipped with 29 strokes of the executioner, branded and banished from the city. This was how the community avoided all the fuss a public execution would entail.
It was not just Norway using such concealment strategy or also called pardoning concealment. One knows about the very same from both Swedish and Danish case law. It is therefore likely, that this is the reason that one does not know of several similar cases in the 1600s and 1700s.
YEAR 1804 - EMPEROR NAPOLEON AND FRANCE DECRIMINALIZE HOMOSEXUALITY
In the English Doctor Frank Richardson's book about Napoleon "The bisexual emperor" in 1973, he notes that Napoleon always surrounded himself with disproportionate handsome young men most of whom were given extraordinary military promotions.
Evangeline Bruce, whose biography from 1995, is titled "Napoleon and Josephine - an unlikely marriage", there is a note written by the emperor in which he confided that when he met a young handsome man, his admiration went "first to the hips and then to a place he would not name".
Keith Stern's "Queers in History" from 2009, mentions that Napoleon was particularly possessed of gay love among his fellow soldiers, and many of his aides was extremely feminine.
Rumors would that General Duroc (pictured right) who served as chief of security at the palace, was also the emperor's lover. It is said that Gaspard Gourgaud guarded access to his master at a very jealous way.
In 1803, Napoleon and France sold Louisiana to the United States, and on the bandwagon followed Napoleon's new law Code Civil or Code Napoléon of 1804.
This has resulted in, Louisiana's laws are completely different from all the other 49 states laws, partly because this law decriminalized homosexuality.
In New Orleans one even got a new slang expression "to follow the Napoleonic code" (following the Napoleonic law) for being gay.
Napoleon used the very same law, when he wanted to divorce from his wife Josephine in 1809, who had not given him any descendants.
Maybe all this gives a new meaning to the phrase: "Not tonight, Josephine! Not tonight!"
Now perhaps we do understand better why Napoleon and France wanted to decriminalize homosexuality in their legislation of 1804, while Norway, however, did not decriminalized homosexuality sooner than in 1972.
YEAR 1869 - THE WORDS HOMOSEXUAL AND HOMOSEXUALITY ARISING
It was as late as in 1869, the male Hungarian Doctor Karoly Benkert, alias Karl-Maria Kertbeny or Károly Mária Kertbeny, born Karl-Maria Benkert February 28, 1824 in Vienna, created the words "homosexual" and "homosexuality" to describe sexual relationships between people of the same sex.
Kertbeny claimed that homosexuality was an inborn and unchangeable orientation, an argument that was later called "the medical model" to explain homosexuality.
He was originally a journalist and gay activist and lived part of his life in Austria, Hungary and Prussia.
YEAR 1890 - THE CONCEPT HETEROSEXUAL AMENDED
In the early 1890s, the term "heterosexual" includes people with sexual orientation against both women and men (what is now called for bisexual) in medical texts. By the mid-1890s changed however the concept of meaning, and was only used to refer to people with sexual orientation to the opposite sex.
YEAR 1902 - NORWAY GETS A NEW PENAL CODE
The new Penal Code which was adopted on 22 May 1902 and entered into force on 1 January 1905, upheld the penalty provision for "lewd intercourse between men". Maximum penalty was however reduced to one year in prison. The provision also expressed "prosecuting will only happen, when it is required in the public interest". It was this clause that applied until 1972.
In practice, this meant essentially a decriminalization of male homosexuality in Norway from the beginning of the 1900s. Female homosexuality was ironed out completely. Norway had few criminal cases compared to other countries. In this sense, the gay history in Norway is slightly less gloomy than in many other countries.
One could say that homophobia in Norway might have, in a way been less brutal and more discreet, but perhaps just as raw and efficient?
YEAR 1924 - THE SOCIETY FOR HUMAN RIGHTS
Henry Gerber, born as Joseph Henry Dittmar on 29 June 1892 in Passau, Bavaria, Germany, created the first gays rights organization "The Society for Human Rights" in Chicago in 1924.
In July 1925 it was an abrupt end to the organization. The wife of one of the founders reported its familiar bisexual husband to a social worker, who in turn contacted the police. They were arrested and charged with misconduct. After three costly attempts to defend themselves, the case was flatly rejected and Gerber lost all their savings and jobs.
He is now a member of the Chicago Gay and Lesbian Hall of Fame.
YEAR 1940 - NAZI-GERMANY AND ADOLF HITLER'S RELATION TO HOMOSEXYALITY
The question of whether Hitler himself was gay, or at least bisexual, has occupied historians for decades. The renowned historian Lothar Machtan from Bremen in Germany published in 2001 the book "Hitler's secret - a dictator's double life" where he presents a compelling variety of circumstantial evidence after several years of research.
In his early years in Vienna, Hitler had several friendships with men. In 1908, lived 20 years old Hitler for four months in one room together with August Kubizek. They dressed alike. "We were held to be brothers, what we wanted," Kubizek wrote later.
In the following three years he lived with the peers Rudolf Häusler. They called each other "Adi" and "Rudi".
One of the strongest circumstantial evidence on Hitler gays orientation stems from his time in the trenches in France during WWI. This wrote the war department officers Hans Mend in a report that went to the German resistance movement in 1939:
"Hitler slept with" Schmidl, "which was his male whore. We heard rustling in the hay. When another soldier lit his flashlight and exclaimed:" Look at them, the gays brothers".
Professor Machtan further suggests that Hitler had a homosexual relationship with two of its drivers and to his deputy Rudolf Hess, whom he called "my Rudi, my little Hesse". Even Hitler's friendship with armor minister Albert Speer "had signs of an erotic friendship between men".
At the same time when homosexuality was condemned, Hitler being on his way to the dictatorial power, he felt that he could become a victim of extortion. This was the background for the murder of Roehm, who from 1931 was the General Chief of Staff in SA. Roehm never let deny that he was gay.
After the slaughter of the SA men, Hitler sat for days and studied Rohm surviving documents and letters, which were then burned. At the same time Hitler began reaching a chase on gays.
According Machtan was Hitler's relationship with his young niece Geli Raubal and later to Eva Braun, diversions to hide his true sexual orientation. Geli Raubal took her own life, and Eva Braun failed with two suicide attempts. Machtan think that the women were driven to this by desperation, because they felt humiliated. Hitler petitioned them not as women.
In Nazi Germany, thousands of gays were forced to wear a pink triangle as a sign of their gays identity before they were executed in the major concentration camps.
And the truth was most likely, that this happened because their own head of state was afraid of being discovered and labeled as gay self - attack is the best defense.
YEAR 1950 - UNITED STATES OF AMERICA LEGITIMIZING ABUSE OF GAYS PERSONS
The evil imagination and the world famous "American Double Standards" obviously have no limitations in the land of the fake liberty:
In the 1950s, demanded several laws in many US cities, that people have to wear at least three pieces of clothing that matched with their own gender. The laws were used to legitimize police undercover methods, regular police raids and especially abuses against people on gays bars. They arrested anyone who could conceivably have committed a lewd act, forcing them to name others gays. Sodomy or homosexuality was now criminal in all 50 states in America until 1961.
YEAR 1953 - THE YEAR THE NORWEGIAN FEDERATION OF 1948 WERE FOUNDED
The Norwegian Federation of 1948 (abbreviated DNF-48) was established in 1953 as an organization working for the interests of gays people. The organization was closed down in 1992 when it joined forces with several other organizations for gays and formed National Association of Lesbian and Gay Liberation (LLH).
YEAR 1953 - THE NORWEGIAN OFFICIAL BROADCASTING (NRK) AND HOMOSEXUALITY
The first Norwegian radio program about homosexuality being broadcast by NRK.
YEAR 1966 - KIM FRIELE BEING ELECTED AS LEADER OF DNF 48
Kim Friele or Karen-Christine Friele, who she really was called, was one of the greatest advocates for gay rights in Norway. Perhaps because women were not covered by the legislation and considered dangerous, she had the freedom to say and do as she wanted.
In Oslo, Friele became a part of, the once very closed gay organization The Norwegian Federation of 1948. She was the leader in the period from 1966 to 1971, and appointed as general secretary until 1989. Frieles work was instrumental to the new Penal Code § 213, which criminalized homosexual acts between men, to be repealed in 1972, that "homosexuality" was deleted as psychiatric diagnosis in 1978, and that Norway in 1981, expanded the criminal Code sections against racism (§§ 135a and 349a) to include discrimination in connection with sexual orientation as well.
YEAR 1969 - THE MODERN GAYS LIBERATION FIGHTS STARTS IN USA

The riots are considered to constitute the single most important event, which led to the gays liberation movement and the modern struggle for LGBT's rights in the United States.
YEAR 1972 - HOMOPHOBIA AND HOMOPHOE IS BEING LAUNCHED AS A MEDICAL DIAGNOSIS
George Weinberg (born 1935) is a Jewish psychotherapist with a doctorate in clinical psychology from Columbia University. He coined the word "homophobia" in 1972 and deepened the phenomenon in his book "Society and the Healthy Homosexual" by suggesting that those who have prejudices against gays and not being gays themselves, are suffering from a mental illness and an irrational state of mind. Weinberg began to use the word already in 1966 and soon the young gays movements began using it.
Although Weinberg is heterosexual himself, he became leader of the successful fight to get homosexuality removed as a diagnostic category, basis of the professional therapeutic instruction and textbooks. Weinberg often asked questions about the relevance of the psychological experiments. He notes the absence between psychological research and what actually works during therapy. He has been an absolutely key figure in the fight to change the public perception of homosexuality.
Weinberg’s big break through, was when another Jewish friend, Al Goldstein, began publishing the facts in the illegal underground newspaper "Gay and Screw" to introduce it as the word of mouth and in popular culture. He even wrote articles for the underground press itself. He also persuaded a young student, Ken Smith, to make a research on homophobia for their degree. They developed questionnaires together. It was the first published scientific study of homophobia.
YEAR 1972 – NORWAY GET A NEW LAW - BEING GAY IS NOT PUNISHABLE ANYMORE
Since male homosexuality was illegal in Norway until 1972 and socially unaccepted even further, have many men living as gays today, previously been married to the opposite sex. The law did not apply to women, because one could not see how they could be gays, since they could not penetrate each other. Maybe lack of fantasy by the legislators?
In some Norwegian environments, with strong religious guidelines or with roots in other cultures, there is still so little acceptance of homosexuality that many marry someone of the opposite sex and trying desperately to live like heterosexual.
It is very much research on children in gays families around the world, and no research suggests that these children have it better or worse than other children, either at home, in school or out.

Two years later, the prominent Right Party politician shocked many in political circles by declaring that she was a lesbian. It was remarkably quiet. Marginalization and isolation were the consequence, and after two periods in Parliament she was not re nominated by Oslo Right next general election in 1985. She was the first government representative who was openly gay.
Together with her life partner Kim (Karen-Christine) Friele, Wenche Lowzow was invited to a hearing in the US Congress 1982. To get an entry permit to the United States, they had to get an exemption from the visa provisions, since homosexuality at the time was classified as a dangerous contagious disease of the US government. The residence permit was also limited to Washington D.C only. In America, both went out strongly against these hypocritical rules of immigration laws and contributed thus strongly that the law was changed in 1988.

That Sunday, a national law went into effect that allowed same-sex couples to be joined in a civil union, and eleven gay male couples did just that — a school psychologist, a Lutheran minister and a high school teacher among them. One of On October 1, 1989, two decades before marriage equality took off in the States, a pair of dogged the grooms, Eigil Axgil (né Eigil Eskildsen), then sixty-seven years old, told Rex Wockner, an American journalist who was there covering it, “We just never could have dreamed that we would get this far.”

WE ARE ENTERING A NEW MILLENNIUM - AND STARTS WRITING THE 21. CENTURY
Things happen faster than ever and the boundaries between sex, fashion and clothing style is becoming more and more blurred, which is for the benefit of those who do not fit the typical pattern that various religions and societies have added up to.
Now it is almost no one who neither looks strange in one way or thinking negative thoughts whether it is a boy or girl dressed in pink or white. Finally, we have come to the step that the individual can choose yourself.
It is only elderly people who remember what crossdressing are, and remember all the problems and prejudices associated with it. Now almost no one cares about if an idol or a star is heterosexual, bisexual, gay or transgender, or how they dress. The question is if he or she can act, sing or whatever.
Thanks to all who have stood on the barricades and not least all the celebrities who have chosen to dress as they please, and not at least have chosen to come forward with their orientation, others have been able to start living for them a normal life.
In fact, without knowing it, celebrities like Boy George, David Bowie, Elton John, Bret Michaels in Poison and a lot of others, have helped others to a much better life, dressing as they wish and not at least live the life they are born to live.
Yet there are some groups of young people who are better than others to come forward, to dress as they want and to show their true selves. One such group is those who call themselves EMO's.
EMO - A MUSIC GENRE, A DRESS STYLE, AND A CERYAIN WAY TO BEHAVE
The word EMO is an abbreviation for the word emotional, meaning sensitive. The term originated in the 1980s and has varied a little bit until today.
Just as those who listen to hip hop music, clings to his own style with caps, sagging, large training pants, etc., clusters also emoer themselves often in groups, having their own style, loving to listen to hardcore punk music, but with lots of emotions.
By almost all current definitions, emo clothing is characterized by black as in tight jeans on both boys and girls. In some cases, even black skirts are allowed. Hair is often brushed to one side of the face, dyed black or bright blonde. Some have stripes in all possible colours and both boys and girls use lots of makeup.
In addition, they often wear tight t-shirts with the names of a rock band, studded belts, belt buckles, Chuck Taylor All Stars, skate shoes, or other black shoes.
Determining the age and gender on an EMO may often be completely impossible, when one at the age of 25 often can be taken to be only 13 to 14 years.

Gaysir was in 2006 awarded by the Honorary Award of Oslo LLH during the annual event Gay Pride in downtown Oslo. The reasoning was that the website had made a safe and inclusive network for gays and lesbians, and helped gays identity construction.

YEAR 2001 - THE WORLD'S FIRST LEGAL GAYS MARRIAGE IN RECENT TIME
YEAR 2002 - THE VERY FIRST "MR GAY NORWAY" COMPETITION KICKS OFF
MR GAY NORWAY - 2002
Mr. Gay Norway, next to Eurovision Song Contest, is perhaps the competition that engages gay-Norway most.
The man who has been the driving force from the very first competition in 2002, is actor Morten Rudå, popularly called Mr Gay General Himself. Not only has he arranged it all, he has also trained the participants to what they have to perform, and he has even directed the show as drag queen Miss Tootsie Knutsen.
The whole thing is based on volunteerism, and the jury consists of a number of official persons, including Mia Gundersen, that after the award said that she loves the gay community - a lot is always happening in the environment. There is so much self-irony and energy, which in turn spills over and gives me energy.
It's required a lot of participants, and they must of course explain why exactly they should be the next Mr Gay Norway.
Mr Gay Norway 2007, Marius Svela who undergo military conscription, wanted to highlight the gays in the military, by using a military uniform during the pageant. He does not regret participating in Mr Gay. I had the aim to highlight the gays in the military when I signed up. I got many mails and sms from soldiers and officers. It was so nice to see that what I did was appreciated. I did not do much, but it meant plenty for anyone. It is also a good experience. It has been an experience of a lifetime, that I would never let go of me.
MR GAY EUROPE - 2005
It all start as a crazy party idea in late 2004. Actor Morten Rudå wanted to retire his drag queen character "Tootsie Knutsen" with a mega party, and after party to let her get a life in the sun with strawberry daiquiris and handsome masculine pool boys in Miami.
In 2005, Oslo would host the Euro Pride, and Morten and his friend Tore Aasheim believed that a decadent "Mr Gay Europe" competition would be a worthy farewell party for Miss Knutsen. With Mortens background from producing countless shows worldwide, and his knowledge of the work of Miss Universe, and Tore's knowledge with the press, marketing and internet web design - started the two the preparatory work for the competition.
Morten started looking for Mr Gay competition online, and it was not long before the first stakeholders signed up, even before a single Mr Gay Europe was arranged. Amsterdam sent a compelling application, where they said that Mr Gay Europe not only had to be a onetime event. Still the first MGE was held in Oslo in honour of Ms. Knutsen.
There were times when they had to be protected by riot police. An embassy sent a letter in which they refused to accept the sovereignty of a new state in Europe. One refused to participate since Mr Gay Europe let Israel participate. Nevertheless, defied Mr Gay Europe nationalist thugs, informed the embassy that this was a European inclusive competition, and they asked the reluctance delegate to stay home.
It is important to remember that the whole event is done by means of volunteering, and that an international event like this is not done just like that. This is hours of blood, sweat and tears. And yes, Mr Gay Europe also has its share of drama - it is after all a gay competition.
MGE founder and former President Morten Rudå says: We wanted to wrap a very important message about gay pride, human rights, and union through diversity, into a package of fun, festivals and shows.
MGE is an open and inclusive rivalry among friends and fellow citizens in Europe. We are the original Mr Gay competition, and we really hope that we make a small contribution to the struggle for gay rights in Europe, says the current president Tore Aasheim.
MR GAY WORLD - 2009
Mr Gay Europe had been a great success, and began to aim even higher and on larger stars around the world. Several of the countries that belonged to MGE, plus many other countries, wanted to get into something worldwide. Again Norway was a driving force, and played a crucial role.
The first Mr Gay World pageant was held in Whistler, Canada on February 8, 2009. Max Krzyzanowski of Ireland were crowned as Mr Gay World 2009. As many as 19 countries from different territories competed for the first time for the Mr Gay title. Once again was hard toil crowned with a huge success.
YEAR 2006 - MARK ZUCKERBERG AND FACEBOOK - SUFFERING FROM HOMOPHOBIA ?
Is Facebook, of the good or the evil for mankind? Mark Zuckerberg, the man who has taken the measure of themselves to become moral guardian worldwide, with good help of the world famous American Double Standards, and by using illegal hacking as a start. Is he the right person to run a world wide community like Facebook?
Let's start by looking at his hoodlums start to his now worldwide operations. On 28 October 2003 while he attended Harvard University, he made the program "Facemash", an application that compared images of two people, so that the user could select which of those were most attractive. To obtain images, Zuckerberg, hacked illegally into the protected areas of Harvard's network. The first four hours Facemash existed, there were 450 visitors stopped by, and showed a total of 22,000 illegal images. Due to the fact that he had used illegal methods to extract and use images, Facemash were closed down pretty fast. Of course, this gives him an extra good reason to look at himself as a morality guard.
In January 2004, began Zuckerberg on a new project, and February 4, 2004, he launched "Thefacebook". This first version was designed for students at Harvard, and within the first month was more than half of the students registered users. Zuckerberg got help from Eduardo Saverin, Dustin Moskovitz, Andrew McCollum and Chris Hughes to help to promote the page. In March 2004, opened Facebook to the universities Columbia, Stanford and Yale. In December the same year, he had one million active users. On 26 September 2006, opened the Facebook registration for all over 13 years with a valid email address.
No one knows how Facebook internal policies and systems works. Nobody at Facebook, not even Zuckerberg dare to stand up for an interview, or are willing to respond to inquiries - even not from the Norwegian Prime Minister, getting her political posts erased. To outsiders and gay Facebook members, it may seem as though Facebook has taken over the Catholic Church's old slogan: When the money in the chest sounds, the soul from purgatory springs. Yes, it is obviously, when only you pay enough, you can spread both child pornography and pornography of sex with animals, as long as there are heterosexuals who act. Here are obviously money replaced against licenses to ulpoad whatever you want, but Zuckerberg knows what is best for you and me.
Now, when the big money started flowing in, he no longer needed to use their brain to perform criminal acts. No, it was obviously more interesting to use his brain as a good homophobe, to persecute gays user of Facebook, delete their pictures and not at least to ban them from Facebook by deactivating their accounts - even without any reason why they deactivate their accounts - but Zuckerberg is the boss!
When I see all the pornography with minors and animals, that comes up on my gays brother's Facebook, not to mention that the very same pops up with his friends’ gays, and some of it even on my Facebook, then you can really get jaw dropped by less. They get constantly invited to join the "closed or secret" Facebook groups where they can upload exactly what they want - and obviously with Facebook's blessing. There are certainly groups some pay dearly for, but since it is money that prevails, then it's certainly blessed by both Zuckerberg and Facebook. I am perhaps just a naive schoolboy of 16 years, but I realize that it is the American Double Standards that apply. I hope that no Norwegians with respect for themselves, would sink so low as Mark Zuckerberg and work for him, or treat their members as unserious as Facebook, and not least approve the way Facebook is acting on. Many in Norway would actually equate that with prostituting themselves for Zuckerberg and the American Double Standards.
The site has even been criticized by the Secretary General of NATO Jens Stoltenberg, Norwegian National Security Authority which is subject to Ministry of Defence, Norwegian Prime Minister Erna Solberg, and several former US Presidents: "Millions of people giving out personal information about themselves on Facebook. It increases the risk of attacks that ultimately can lead to loss of life or extensive damage to national security".
Others are also very critical of possible abuse of personal information in the community. The well-known Internet activist Julian Assange, claimed in 2012, that Facebook are sharing sensitive personal information with US intelligence services. He describes Facebook as the "most dangerous spy machine ever invented". No wonder it is easy to weed out and prosecute all those gays at Facebook.
Mark Zuckerberg blesses the entire madness as the boss of Facebook, but it gives him enormous amounts of money - and that's what counts in the US!
Facebook has apologized for what critics called homophobia, but not changed its policies
This H&M advertisong is a reason to get you account disabled being gay. Do you think that is okay?
Still in 2016
Americans would say:
God bless the American Double Standards!
Here it should have been a picture of sex with animals or children, but I decided to give these flowers to those who persevere with the madness of Zuckerberg and Facebook

YEAR 2016 - FOUND THE WORLD'S OLDEST GAYS COUPLE
A research team at the University of Tel Aviv, believes excavation near Tell el Hammeh at the West Bank of Jordan, may be the remains of Sodom and Gomorrah, allegedly destroyed by the wrath of God because of the population's "wickedness and obscure practices".
Hence the term sodomy, sexual intercourse between man and beast, unfortunately often confused with homosexuality - which is completely wrong. They hope that the discovery of the two 5000 years old male skeletons, as well as new discoveries, could prove that Sodom and Gomorrah actually existed.
YEAR 2016 - FINALLY THE FIRST GAYS SECRETARY OF THE ARMY IN USA
Thanks to US President Barack Obama, the first black and perhaps the best and most compassionate president ever, the US finally has begun to follow in other civilized nations footsteps when it comes to homosexuality and human rights.
Reason: President Obama, in a historic first for the Pentagon, has chosen to nominate Eric Fanning to lead the Army, a move that would make him the first openly gay civilian secretary of one of the military services.
Mr. Eric K. Fanning, married to Ben Masri-Cohen, was appointed 22nd Secretary of the Army by President Obama on May 18, 2016. As Secretary of the Army, the largest service branch of the U.S. military, he has statutory responsibility for all matters relating to the United States Army: manpower, personnel, reserve affairs, installations, environmental issues, weapons systems and equipment acquisition, communications, and financial management.
An enormous victory for gay rights in the United States.
YEAR 2016 - THE BRITISH ROYALS GETS ITS FIRST OFFICIAL GAYS
Lord Ivar Mountbatten, Queen Elizabeth's cousin, and Queen Victoria's descendant, has made royal history by coming out of the closet as gay. He told about his relationship with James Coyle, and the happiness he had found the last year, to the newspaper the Mail on Sunday: "I'm much happier now but I'm still not quite familiar with being an official gay".
It being a Mountbatten was never the problem, he told the newspaper, but it was the generation I was born in that has been the problem. When I was growing up, was homosexuality known as "the love one did not even dare to mention".
He further told, that his former wife, whom he divorced in 2011, and his three daughters, have been incredibly understanding and supportive after the incident. They are constantly stopped by the house to the new couple.
Although he is a member of the extended British Royal Family, he has chosen to come forward openly and honestly about it. Surprisingly, no one in the royal family turned their backs on him, but they seem to have accepted it in a responsive manner.
YEAR 2016 - NORWAY BECOMES FIRST COUNTRY TO PROVIDE FREE PrEP
In a powerful show of support for its LGBT community, the Norwegian government has become the first country in the world to offer PrEP free of charge as part of its National Health Service.
The Pre-exposure Prophylaxis (PrEP) drug Truvada has been proven to reduce the risk of HIV infection by 86 percent and has been endorsed by the World Health Organization and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. The drug is available in several countries, including the United States, Canada, France, South Africa and, now, Norway.
Minister for Health and Social Care Bent Høie made the announcement in October, stating that the drug would not only be available in the country, but that it would also be provided to at-risk users at no expense.
The landmark move came as the result of two years of tireless lobbying by HIV Norway in conjuncture with the Institute of Public Health and the Health Directorate.
“PrEP will contribute to reducing the rate of new infections in the gay community, as gay men are facing a risk of infection much higher than the general population,” stated Leif-Ove Hansen, the president of HIV Norway. “Condom use is on the decline,” he continued, “and we are happy that PrEP now is an integrated part of the public health service.”
The bold decision has been met with great enthusiasm from HIV charities around the world, many of whom are still advocating for PrEP to become available in their countries.
Ian Green, Chief Executive of Terrence Higgins Trust in the UK, said: “Norway’s decision to provide PrEP is another great step forward for HIV prevention in Europe. PrEP is a game changer and, when used alongside condoms, regular testing and effective treatment, it can help end the HIV epidemic for good.” Governments must stop with their delays and confusion,” he concluded, “and make PrEP immediately available to those at risk of HIV.”
It's soon the year 2017 after Christ, and how far has the world come when it comes to homosexuality? It has come just as far as we were before Christ and Christianity. It is again allowed to live as we were born to, and it is allowed to live together with, or to marry the ones we love. In retrospect, one can wonder whether the meantime has been of the good or evil of mankind?
Yes, it is a great pity and a shame that The Christian Church, The Islamic World, and all the other religious denominations, believing in an accepting, kind and merciful God, creating the earth, does exclude gays to be a part of God's wonderful and perfect creations. Why, and have they got any permission or been allowed from thier gods, to do and act like this? I don't think so.
